Marc-Andre ter Stegen: 8.5
One of his best performances in ages, ter Stegen was calm with the ball at all times. He found an unmarked player each time, and was active out of possession with high claims, saves, and sweeping actions.
Ronald Araujo: 9
Started as the right-back, and had a near flawless night vs Vinicius Jr. Kept him pocketed through the game, making sure he had no space all game. Scored a header to put the cherry top.
Gerard Pique: 9
Gerard Pique was rock solid both on and off the ball tonight. Gave Madrid’s multiple false 9s no space at all, and acted like a captain when things got out of hand, as they do in a Clasico.
Eric Garcia: 9
Garcia’s presence was criticised tonight, but he showed his quality alongside Pique. He was firm in possession, and essentially flawless defensively.
Jordi Alba: 8.5
After the initial quiver against Rodrygo, Alba got back on his feet and dominated the flank without problems. He created three chances as well, and was unlucky to not get his seventh assist vs Madrid.
Frenkie de Jong: 8
Frenkie de Jong’s performance might have missed the eye, but he was crucial to Dembele, creating chaos. Combined brilliantly with him through 1-2s, and was vital to the fourth goal with his genius positional sense.
Sergio Busquets: 9
A mammoth in the centre of the park, Busquets was a major reason why Kroos and Modric had no sniff of the proceedings. He was placed perfectly to stop all attacks, and, as ever, unplayable in possession.
Pedri: 8.5
The more said about Pedri, the less at this point. His first touch was silky smooth at all times, and pressing him was an exercise in pointlessness. Was so close to getting a sensational assist for Ferran, but was denied by Casemiro.
Ousmane Dembele: 9
Two more assists for Dembele tonight, who goes up to nine for the season. The Frenchman gave Nacho nightmares for days, switching the ball from his left to his right on the wing. Came close to scoring as well, but missed by a yard.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 9.5
Aubameyang was untouchable tonight, and added to his already sensational tally in a Barcelona shirt with two goals and an assist tonight. Both his goals were tremendous, but the vision to find Torres for his goal was simply world-class.
Ferran Torres: 8.5
Torres tormented Dani Carvajal all game with his off-ball movement, and eventually got the goal he deserved after missing a few chances with a strike to the top right corner.
SUBSTITUTES:
Memphis Depay: 7
Clearly wanted to prove his worth in the little time he got. Showed intent with his dribbling and movement and even got to test Courtois.
Gavi: 7
Gavi came on to huge impact in the opening minutes. Chased Madrid’s counters all he had left, and changed the momentum brilliantly when on the ball.
Adama Traore: 6
Did not get to do his trademark sprint move, but made two crucial defensive actions. Was clutch as Barcelona secured the clean sheet.
Nico Gonzalez: 6.5
Nico came on to disrupt Madrid’s control of the game, and was undoubtedly successful with his three fouls in three minutes.
Dani Alves: N/A
Alves came on late, did not contribute enough to warrant a rating.
